waiting for a call

It's been what, one, two weeks since i've last blogged. I just can't find the mood to. Anyway, the past few days have been rather busy for me. The first time in my whole life looking for a job. At first, my friend told me about this factory job in Jurong West. We went there hoping that we can start on the same day, but turned out that the company only takes in chinese people. The least is to tell us they want only chinese people, but noo. Instead, they give this lame excuse that we -me and my malay friend who told me about this job- have no previous job experience, therefore they cannot give us the job. Ironically, my chinese friend, who also stated that he has no previous job experience was asked to wait. Know what, he got the job! Where is the racial harmonism? About four days after that job application, my friend called me(the malay one). He told me to wake up at 6.00a.m. the next day, for another factory work application. So, he called me in the morning and we were off to Boon Lay, the same place for the previous factory job application. It was raining, in the morning and it was freezing cold. Not forgetting that on the way there, we took an air-conditioned bus. So after filling in the application form, we were just waiting there, being the only three malay people applying for that job, when my friend said he wanted to go off. So i was like, wtf? Then, we disappeared from that place, never to return again. We had our breakfast at macs. Mark, my chinese friend who got the job, joined us after his so called "shift". His job was to place a keypad into the handphone. And in one hour, they were supposed to put together 1500 handphones. The night shift was 12 hours, making it 1500 x 12 = 18000 handphones. He was tired, wanting to go home. We were lucky we didn't get the job, wanting to find some other job. Halim, my other friend, bought the straits times. Then we found this ad, a new advertising company looking for 100youths. It says, "we'll be working in a fun environment". Whatever that means. Thinking that they were looking for 100 youths, so our chances should be quite high. It took us almost two hours to look for the building. So, we had the interview(not actually an interview. they just tell us how the job is like), and went home. Yesterday, mark told me about this flyer-giving-out job from friday to sunday. The pay was good, 6.50 per hour. Went in for the interview. A bit nervous though, because it was my first time. So, my interview was short, while Mark's was quite long. I'm just hoping i'll get that job. the one with the good pay. Just now, Mark called. He told me he got the job from the new advertising company. He went there yesterday, and got the job today. I went there 2 days ago, yet no phone call. Maybe they didn't pick me. I just want a job. Thats all. Anyone wants to employ me?
