10 days since my last post. not that nothing happened lately, but too many things happened. the last post was on the 17th. 19th was the turning point. i went out to meet Shiffa Aziha, my net buddy/best friend(online). the plan was to watch epic movie together, with her sister. i got there first, so i bought the tix. went down to the station to meet her. the first face-to-face meet-up was quite funny and awkward. she and her sis came towards me, told me her sis' 'boyfriend' is tagging along so they're afraid theres no more tix, then they went off. hmm. feels like something is missing. oh yar. there wasn't a 'hello' whatsoever. haha. so, as rushingly as they came towards me, they rushed towards the the ticketing booth. yes. THEY. leaving me behind. wahahahaha. it was weird i tell you. so then, it was off to the movies. epic movie was one hilarious shit. from magneto with one big magnet on his helmet to hermoine getting pregnant with ron. her tummy was like bulging out, and she was smoking. haha. me and shiffa were sitting side by side laughing our butts off. and she kept on saying 'what the fuck', in the cinema, and it was quite loud. i was like, okaaay. haha. after the movie, walked around bugis and then head for cityhall. went to marina square to eat, for free, thnx to her sis' 'boyfriend'. when we're done, we head towards cityhall mrt, went back home. shiffa, heres one thing i didnt tell you. when you went down the escalator and we said our gdbyes, i took the opposite one which you were taking, without looking at the signs! i was thinking too much at that time. soooo, i ended up on the same floor as you, but my train wasn't on that floor. wakakaka. cepat2 aku naek balek hoping that i wun see you again pasal nanti paiseh. wakakakakaka. belo belo.

bye2 Shop n Save
Saturday, February 17, 2007
just now at 1 am marks the end of my temp. job at Shop n Save - Ghim Moh. i started on the 27th january and ended on 17th february, which is today. 19 days at Shop n Save and i've learnt quite a lot. hmm, lets see. how to make a block stack of mili mushrooms/canned food, block stack of myojo instant noodles, how to shelf items, make ticketings/shelf talker/poster and also make critical decisions of what box to stack on the top shelf coz you have many boxes with limited space on top. seriously. stack wrongly and it might fall. nono, it will fall. haizz. just as i got used to things, my job is done. i did get sian of the job once. i guess things will be quite boring if you do the same thing again and again. so anyway, the staffs there are all so friendly. i'll miss them uhh.

job is done and experience is gained. yes earning money is tough. it'll be even tougher is you don't like your job but have to do it in order to earn money. therefore, education is important so that you get a job that you'll enjoy. so, lets see. second hand office furniture mover, factory card QC and Shop n Save shelf stacker. i'd like to try promoting uh. its quite fun.

next stop, shopping malls. need to shop for clothes. poly mah. haha.

forced migration
Wednesday, February 14, 2007
just as i've guessed it, bloggers are forced to switch to the new blogger which is under google. come on google. as if youtube isn't enough, you have to take control of blogger. you going to hold on to every websites available on the net is it? aiyoyo.

JAE 2007. logged in, filled up and submitted. it was a very hard decision to make, but it has been done. making the decision was quite a challenge. noting down factors such as interest, campus location, campus surrounding and job prospects. i was stuck with picking either Nework Systems and Security(NSS) or Aeronautical Engineering(AE) as my first choice. the thing is, NSS is quite unknown to the world. though we daily use internet, we hardly hear of the people behind it. people who worked on it are somehow the background people. unlike NSS, AE is quite visual. you see people servicing airplanes and stuff. that was the thing that changed my mind. roughly knowing what the NSS teaches you is fun. like, voice over IP(is it?) where you use the net to call someone in a foreign country to cut telephone charges. but then, the lab is only so small with a couple of rooms. the thing you'll get to touch, as in hands-on are the networking devices. job prospects are quite good because the girl that talked to me about it said she got a job offer from the company she was attached to and also the vendor. furthermore, Singapore is going wireless by 2015. so, there should be quite a number of job opportunity by that time. hands-on for AE would be rather interesting because we'd be touching planes! know how things work, its structure and stuff. i just cant wait.

out of the 12 available choices, i only put down 5. they are as follows.
1) Aeronautical Engineering
2) Network Systems and Security
3) Computer Engineering
4) Aerospace Technology
5) Product Design and Innovation

tick tock
Sunday, February 11, 2007
the results are out but still problems are not yet over. the deadline is not even helping. making decisions of which course to take and which poly to go to is quite challenging. Singapore Poly(SP) is the first poly in s'pore and have a good reputation of being a good school, however, the campus is quite old and doesn't look that good. Ngee Ann Poly(NP) however is new compared to SP. dunno about its rep but the campus is quite, er, hip. modern looking and stuff. both are quite easily reached by me, either by 105 or 52. thats about the campus. next i have the many courses to choose from. interest? engineering. but wait, there are many areas of engineering. then i'll have to think through what my future career would be like. if thats not enough, i have the whole family telling me different things. one says take a course you have interest in, take one which can give a job that is really wanted in the future, dun take ship engineering, take computer engineering because many people are using computers nowadays, take architecture like my aunt because i like to do drawings. the funniest one of all is take something in design so in the future i can design furnitures. like, what the heck right. thats was my mum uhh. all because i showed her my DnT project which was a compact, foldable table. haha.

right now while typing this, i'm making up my choices. i just fucking realised that i'm actually determining my future by choosing a course. having marine and offshore technology on the top of my head right now. its like, taking a risk, making a choice, a rather big humongous choice like a leap of faith. haha. over seh. i'll never know how it'll be like in the future, whether i'll enjoy what i do or suffer doing it. what the fish. haizz. big big decision.

weights off

five years of secondary education, out of all the information taken in, only some were tested in the O levels. stress gained during the O level examinations and also the past few days before the O level result release. finally, it all paid off. i did quite well. it all seemed to good to be true. i didn't fail my english paper after all, which i thought i messed up the essay part. all in all, i'm quite satisfied. but still, shafiq got one grade less than me. damn! haha. well, he deserved it. some people were tearing for both good and not so good results. faiz was like totally overwhelmed when he got to know he got 11 for his L1R4. and so was shafiq. both were in tears. it was quite emotional and also funny in a way uh. i was shivering while counting how much i got. tears, well, was just at the back of my eyes uhh. didn't quite let it out. heh. well, this year's o level batch was somehow, much better than last year's i think, coz there were improvements, even though there were no 9 pointers this year. for those who didn't make it, or weren't quite happy with their results, don't worry ok. it's no the end until you say so. seriously speaking. ite student turned F&N teacher, you should know who he is. or, first-year ite student did good in his course so he was given a chance to take up a poly course. think of your future and make the right decision. good luck to all.

free mac meal for everyone
Wednesday, February 07, 2007
today was kind of different. usually when working with others, i'd be given the simple tasks like stocking stuff onto the shelves. however when working with sarwani, he'll be asking me to do stuffs harder than usual like climbing the ladders and stacking boxes on the top shelf till like up high. workout i tell you, but i enjoyed it uh. quite fun. so it too place all along till 7. thats when i took my makan break. went to this coffee shop across the road to buy chicken cutlet rice for the first time. and also for the first time, i ate rice for dinner. wakakakaka. well, it was okok lah. usual flavoured rice with chicken cutlet. want to say nice, i'd say about half nice uh. haha. what am i talking. so anyway, just about ten minutes after finishing my meal, i was standing outside when the manager(so called my boss uh. thats what i called him. he in-charge mah) came to each one of us and asked "you want macdonald?". straight away i answered, yes. my tummy is obviously full and i know it'll be hard to swallow more things inside, BUT, FREE FOOD! you can never turn down, i mean, i can never turn down free food. hello, FREE! the word singaporeans always look out for. luckily the mac came like 20 mins later, when my tummy has settled down a bit. the thing is, he didn't just ask me. he asked everyone including the promoters outside. must have stroke 4D or sumthing. but hey, he didn't say why right, so i think its ok to eat it uhh. haha. hmm. 3 new promoters came in today. jia jia liang teh(is it typed right?), coca-cola and tiger beer promoter. jj and coke are guys while tiger is a chio bu. heh. haven't talk to her yet. get this, chio bu, tiger, *insert cat sound(wew. something like that.)*. haha. so, yar.

on to another topic. results are coming out this friday and i'm fucking worried for english. i'm trying to get my mind off english till the results are out, so, yep. for choosing a poly course, i'm still mind-blank. theres engineering but so many areas of engineering. or maybe business? saw this poly girl reading her notes prepping for her exam i guess. microeconomics something something. "does the customer prefer vouchers or tax rebate?". aiyoyo. i really would like to start business in the future. hmm. ideas are out in my head right now, just waiting for the time to imply it. hmmmm...

take note of the underlined ones, coz 'it' happens most of the times.

How to Detect Lies
Become a Lie Detector
--------------------------------
Introduction to Detecting Lies:

The following techniques to telling if someone is lying are often used by police, and security experts. This knowledge is also useful for managers, employers, and for anyone to use in everyday situations where telling the truth from a lie can help prevent you from being a victim of fraud/scams and other deceptions.

Warning: Sometimes Ignorance is bliss; after gaining this knowledge, you may be hurt when it is obvious that someone is lying to you.

• Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements. Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space.

• A person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact.

Hands touching their face, throat & mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand.
Emotional Gestures & Contradiction

• Timing and duration of emotional gestures and emotions are off a normal pace. The display of emotion is delayed, stays longer it would naturally, then stops suddenly.

• Timing is off between emotions gestures/expressions and words. Example: Someone says "I love it!" when receiving a gift, and then smile after making that statement, rather then at the same time the statement is made.

• Gestures/expressions don’t match the verbal statement, such as frowning when saying “I love you.”

• Expressions are limited to mouth movements when someone is faking emotions (like happy, surprised, sad, awe, )instead of the whole face. For example; when someone smiles naturally their whole face is involved: jaw/cheek movement, eyes and forehead push down, etc.
Interactions and Reactions

A guilty person gets defensive. An innocent person will often go on the offensive.

A liar is uncomfortable facing his questioner/accuser and may turn his head or body away.

• A liar might unconsciously place objects (book, coffee cup, etc.) between themselves and you.

Body Language
Verbal Context and Content

• A liar will use your words to make answer a question. When asked, “Did you eat the last cookie?” The liar answers, “No, I did not eat the last cookie.”

•A statement with a contraction is more likely to be truthful: “ I didn't do it” instead of “I did not do it”

Liars sometimes avoid "lying" by not making direct statements. They imply answers instead of denying something directly.
(this is me btw)

• The guilty person may speak more than natural, adding unnecessary details to convince you... they are not comfortable with silence or pauses in the conversation.

• A liar may leave out pronouns and speak in a monotonous tone. When a truthful statement is made the pronoun is emphasized as much or more than the rest of the words in a statement.

• Words may be garbled and spoken softly, and syntax and grammar may be off. In other
words, his sentences will likely be muddled rather than emphasized.
Other signs of a lie:

• If you believe someone is lying, then change subject of a conversation quickly, a liar follows along willingly and becomes more relaxed. The guilty wants the subject changed; an innocent person may be confused by the sudden change in topics and will want to back to the previous subject.

Using humor or sarcasm to avoid a subject.

Final Notes:

Obviously, just because someone exhibits one or more of these signs does not make them a liar. The above behaviors should be compared to a persons base (normal) behavior whenever possible.

blogging
Sunday, February 04, 2007
blogging was quite the In few years back. i can still remember the day when i lost my blog virginity. siti asked me to visit her blog, so i did. it looked so fucking nice(that was when i was still new to blogging). this was when blogger.com was still known as blogspot.com. so anyway, siti's blog was awesome. at first i thought she made it herself. ermm, just to make it clear, a blog is actually a webpage. so if you can make a webpage at that time, not just any webpage, one that is well designed - well designed most probably because its only ONE page - then, you're da bomb. well, it was to me. so i tried making one. i started with the default blogspot skin/template which there after i tried to insert an image into it. well, it sucks. later on i got to know from siti that she didn't actually make the skin. she got it from blogskins.com. so, CHEY. i didn't get any skin from blogskins.com if i remember correctly. i do remember saving siti's blog template and looking at it, trying to understand what tag is for what. lady mephis(pardon me if its the wrong spelling) was the skin maker of the skin which siti used. then on i became a bookworm of some sort. i went to the library quite a number of times - it was the hols during that time - and borrowed books on HTML. they're super thick and i borrowed around two at a time. roughly i read the contents, try to remember them, then try make a site slowly. well, HTML is nothing now because its not compatible with some browsers. haizz.
